Three CSS Inc members met with representatives of the NSW Lands Department - Wee Jasper Reserves to discuss the protection of the Dogleg Cave. A document on the Protection of Dogleg and the meeting outcome in Word or PDF are here. This document has been provided to the NSWSC for discussion at the May meeting.

3 May 2008

CSS Inc conducted surface RDF locating of the Dogleg Railway Tunnel/Lake Chamber and did a rough survey of the SandTrap passage layout.

10 May 2008

At the NSWSC meeting CSS Inc proposed 3 motions related to the Dogleg cave protection project. All nine clubs represented at the meeting (CSS, CWCG, OSS, NHVSS, BMSC, SUSS, HCG, KSS and ISS) voted in favour of the motions.

13 May 2008

CSS and NSWSC sent the grant application to ASF Environment Gift Fund. PDF Copy of the grant application.

24 May 2008

CSS Inc with the Land Dept Ranger visited the SandTrap and other locations to discuss potential gating options.

6 June 2008

CSS Inc sends letter to NSW Lands Dept requesting formal approval for the gate to be installed.

29 July 2008

ASF Environment Gift Fund responded that $500 and then $1000 would be provided for this project subject to the conditions in PDF Response From ASF EF..

7 November 2008

NSW Lands Dept provides letter for approval to install the gate in the proposed loaction(s) PDF Response From NSW Lands Dept..
